Initially I will meet with you to carry out an assessment, which usually takes 1-2 sessions. This will help us understand the nature of your difficulties, to agree on a focus of our work and for us both to decide if we would be a good fit to work together.
I deliver evidence based (recommended treatment approaches in best practice guidelines) psychological therapies. The therapies I primarily use are EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and a CAT informed approach. I am also experienced in using other models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). These therapies are explained in more detail in the therapies section of the website . I would discuss the different treatment approaches with you and which approach may be best suited for your difficulties at the end of our assessment and then we can decide together what feels a best fit for you to help you work towards your recovery goals.
Our sessions will generally last for 50 minutes. If we agree to work together, I will discuss my practice policies and procedures with you. This will include my data management policy which explains how your data will be used and stored and my terms and conditions.
I am an open, warm and compassionate psychologist. You are the expert in your story and it is important to me that we work together collaboratively to move forward in your recovery.
