Professional Support for Services & Agencies

At Mind Growth Psychology, I work with professionals, services and care providers who support older adults and people living with dementia.

If you’re in health, social care or voluntary sectors, you’ll know that working in this space brings complexity. Emotional fatigue, ethical dilemmas, relational dynamics, and system constraints can all impact how we show up in care relationships.

My aim is to support staff and organisations to think more psychologically, work more reflectively, and embed trauma-informed, values-based approaches in practice.

What We Offer

Consultancy

I work with organisations and services to support better care for older people, particularly those affected by dementia and trauma.

Consultancy can include:

  • Case consultation
  • Service design with psychological input
  • Review of practices through a values-based and trauma-informed lens

Whether you're commissioning services, managing a team or developing resources, I bring over 20 years of mental health experience specialising in ageing, neuropsychology and dementia.

Training

I design and deliver bespoke training for staff teams, services including care home and care agencies and networks working with older adults, carers, and people living with dementia.

Common topics include:

  • Understanding trauma in older adults
  • Dementia and behaviour: A psychological and relational approach
  • Using CAT-informed relational thinking in care roles
  • Working with grief, loss with older adults
  • Embedding psychological thinking in everyday care
  • Staff burnout and wellbeing

All training is grounded in clinical evidence and best practice.

Reflective Practice & Supervision

I offer regular or one-off spaces for individuals and teams to reflect on the emotional impact of their work.

My approach is psychologically informed, grounded in clinical models (CAT, ACT), and sensitive to the real-world challenges of care roles.

I specialise in:

  • Working with trauma in older adults (including trauma manifesting in dementia care)
  • Relational patterns and role dynamics in care systems (drawing on Cognitive Analytic Therapy)
  • Holding space for ethical reflection and practitioner wellbeing

These sessions offer a structured, boundaried space for:

  • Exploring emotional responses and team dynamics
  • Preventing burnout and compassion fatigue
  • Thinking about behaviour and distress through a trauma-informed lens
